Whether your goal is to learn basic water safety skills, a socially proficient swimmer or swim-team ready, our certified instructors can help achieve your goal!
During the first lesson we will complete a complementary diagnostic to make sure your child is in the correct level to develop their skills.
Spending summers at the pool is an age-old tradition. As a child, nothing was more fun than playing in the water with friends, was it? But as a parent, you cannot fully enjoy pool time until your children know how to swim. All of your attention is making sure they are safe.
Our mission, first and foremost, is to equip our swimmers with the necessary skills to stay safe around water. Before working on the four core strokes, we will equip our swimmers with the following skills:
Safe pool entry & exit; head protection; slip prevention; exiting in a state of panic
How to achieve an easy to maintain and easy to breathe position if fatigued in the water
How to achieve a back float if your child has fallen into the water or is disoriented
My children took lessons twice a week at [a big chain fitness club] for two years with no progress. As soon as we started with A+ Swim School, the kids' improvement was amazing. I finally feel safe with my kids around our pool.

We recommend beginning safety skills with your baby at 6+ months. It is never too late to start! For lessons with babies we typically recommend that the parent partake in the lesson in the water.
Can I still sign up for lessons if we are not members at a pool?
Absolutely! We have partnered with neighborhood and other community pools so that our lessons are accessible to all.
What happens if I need to cancel my lessons?
My child who is 7+ years old has never been in or around a pool before, what level would he or she be in?
Tadpole. Your child's abilities will be the most important factor when deciding which level to start with.
I am an adult, but don't know how to swim. Can I take lessons?
Absolutely! We have instructed many adults who either never learned to swim growing up, or who needed to brush up on their skills. We've helped many adults gain comfort for social swimming and competitive swimming, transforming their proficiency from literally feet in the water to proficiency in all four strokes.
Where and when do lessons take place?
We teach lessons 7 days/week from 8 am - 8 pm. We begin lessons as soon as your pool opens. Our season typically runs from May-September
What happens to the lessons if it storms?
With outdoor pools, the weather is ultimately unpredictable. We are lucky enough in the Triangle to have good weather most of the summer, but if it happens to storm, we will be sure to contact you and reschedule lessons in a timely fashion.
What changes have you made in response to Covid-19?
Safety is our first priority. Every instructor is vaccinated. If any instructor has experienced symptoms of Covid-19, they will be relieved of duty for 14 days. The CDC recommends that swimmers do not wear masks in the water.

My son learned more in his first class with Ms. Olivia than he did in three months last summer at [big chain swim school]!
